How to make money from a blog in 2019?
You can monetise your blog with CPC or CPM Ads
One of the most common ways bloggers make money is by placing adverts on their website for companies.
There are two types of ads that have become most popular
- CPC/PPC Ads: Cost per click (also called pay per click) ads are usually banners that you place in your content or sidebar. Each time a reader clicks on the ad, you are paid for that click.
- CPM Ads: CPM Ads, or “cost per 1,000 impressions,” are ads that pay you a fixed amount of money based on how many people view your ad.
Currently, the most popular online network for advertising types of ads is Google AdSense. When you use this program, you don’t actually need to be in contact with contact with the advertisers that you want to recommend; all you need to do is place the banner on your site, Google chooses ads relevant to your content, and your viewers click on the ads, this is the most easiest way to do this – and it is REALLY easy.
If AdSense doesn’t work as well as you hoped, there are SOOOOO Many other platforms that offer the same kind of service such Chitika, Infolinks, and Media.net – but there will be more. As they come up I will add to the list above.
Selling Private Ads
If you do not want to workwith advertising networks directly, you can think about contacting businesses within your niche to sell advertising space. If you manage to grow quite an audience and have a good amount traffic, advertisers will come to you directly and ask you to place their ad on your site – When that happens you will be winning!!
Instead of holding out and waiting for advertisers to come to you, be BRAVE and contact advertiser directly.
The main difference between working with the advertiser as opposed to the advertising network is that you cut out the middle man and have more control of the money that you can make.
What is a Private ad?
Private ads are advertisements in the form of banners, buttons, or links.
- You can maximize your income by offering companies sponsorship space in your email newsletters (I use Mailchimp and Convertkit), podcasts, and videos.
- You can even make money writing sponsored posts where you write about or review of an company’s product or service.
Affiliate Marketing Links
Affiliate marketing is absolutely amazing, you are basically recommending products and services that you feel will add value or help your readers and really increase the revenue that you can make from your blog Here is how affiliate marketing works:
- An advertiser has a product that they want to sell. They have a set commission or your agree a commission of the sales made from your user purchasing a product or service from the advertiser.
- The advertiser will give you a unique link that tracks your affiliate code. That way,the purchases can be tracked back to you and paid out.
- You include your affiliate link on your site. You can do this directly in the content or through banner ads. If a reader clicks on your unique link and buys the product you have recommended, you earn a percentage of what they have purchased.
Sell Digital Products
If you are looking to grow your own brand, you can sell your own products you should consider selling digital products. This can include items like:
- Online courses/workshops
- Images, video, or music people can use in their own content
- Apps, plugins, or themes
Just remember that if you are going to choose one of these avenues that you make it relevant and useful to your readers – don’t look at it as a money making technique, you need to add value to your readers lives – that is why they are coming to your blog!
Use it as a Content Marketing Tool for Your Business
It is also possible to sell physical products on your blog and to earn an income from it, you can think of your blog as a content marketing tool that will drive visitors to your business website.
The possibilities are practically endless when it comes to developing a business blog.
You could sell hand-made products, books, manufactured products, and so much more. Or you might already have a business and decide to start a blog to convert loyal customers.
Lets say, for example, that you upcycle and refurbish and resell used furniture out of your home. You could use a blog to attract visitors to your website where you list your current items for sale. Your blog might cover topics about DIY refurbishing.
You can use this concept across all industries and help promote and grow you company and brand awareness.
Another option to make money is to sell memberships to exclusive corners of your website, this could be an online course, access to member freebies and support or your very own forum!
